Education Journals 
Search the leading full-text journals in education and related fields.

Educator's Reference Complete provides access to over 760 top educational publications, including more than 600 of the titles in full text. The coverage spans the literature on primary, secondary and higher education as well as special education, home schooling and adult education.

ERIC - This database is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education to provide extensive access to education-related literature. ERIC provides coverage of journal articles, conferences, meetings, government documents, theses, dissertations, reports, audiovisual media, bibliographies, directories.

Literature Criticism Online  - This is a searchable compilation of literary commentary publications from following Gale print publications  for Early Childhood student the most useful is Children's Literature Review but Poetry Criticism, Short Story Criticism, Drama Criticism. and Children's Literature Review are useful.. The collections provides indexing and access to tens of thousands of essays

Professional Collection A custom selection of more than 300 full text journals for educators that is updated daily and provides 24-hour  access from school or home. It offers balanced coverage for any professional educator in the following areas: arts and humanities; child  and adolescent psychology and development; drug and alcohol abuse; health/nutrition/fitness; learning disabilities; literature; school law; science and technology; social sciences; and sports/athletic training.

Professional Development Collection provides a focused collection of electronic information especially for professional educators, professional librarians and education researchers. Professional Development Collection includes full text for Chronicle of Higher  Education, Educational Leadership, Journal of Education, Journal of Higher Education, Journal of Learning Disabilities, Theory Into Practice, and nearly 520 high quality education journals

Teachers Reference Center - This index of over 260 titles from the most popular teacher and administrator trade journals, periodicals, and books is offered free via the EBSCOhost platform. This database provides coverage on key education topics such as Assessment,  Continuing Education, Current Pedagogical Research, Curriculum Development, Instructional Media, Language Arts, Literacy Standards,   Science & Mathematics, and more.

The Databases link on the left connects to the alphabetical database list of UMC databases In addition to the specialized databases listed above there are several very large databases which would be useful to your research:

Academic Search Premier - contains indexing for nearly 8,050 publications, with full text for more than 4,600 of those titles. PDF back files to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable references are provided for more than 1,000 titles.

Ebsco MegaFile EBSCO MegaFILE is a multi-disciplinary database providing full text for nearly 12,000 total publications and indexing & abstracting for more than 16,000 publications. 

Google Scholar (Beta) - A Google search engine which indexes peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts, and other scholarly literature from a variety of academic publishers and professional societies, as well as scholarly articles available across the web. UMC Library has enabled linking to the full text of articles located in Google Scholar using FindIt the UMC Library Linking service.

Periodicals link on the left goes to the list of the UMC Library's major periodicals collections. It has a link to our list of UMC Print Periodicals and to the Find a Full Text Electronic Journal page to search to see if UMC Library provides online access to specific periodical title.  Search by journal title, broad subject category, or ISSN.

Science Direct- Scientific, technical, and medical information from 1995 to the present. The print publisher is Elsevier®.  The journals in the collection are listed with an icon indicating which journals UMC has access. Chick here for the list. SpringerLink acquired Kluwer Online and combined the journal collections of both publishers to provide access to some of the world's leading scientific, technical, and medical journals. A browse list of titles is available on the SpringerLink home

ebrary Academic Complete - Academic Complete is an e-book collection with more than 70,000 titles from a wide variety of publishers including many University Press titles, and titles from Wiley, Kaplan, Kluwer, Random House, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and McGraw-Hill.  It has an easy-to-use interface with simple searching and tools including personal bookshelves, automatic citations, highlighting and annotating.  Unlimited simultaneous users so there are no turnaways

eBook Collection (EBSCOhost):
This collection consists of the more than 13,000 former NetLibrary books UMC has purchased.  Ebsco acquired these from NetLibrary.
