Access to UMC's Library Resources
As a college in the High School student at UMC you have the same access to the UMC Library's resources as do the faculty and students who access the resources on campus. When you use these materials from your home or high school you may have to log in at the beginning of a session using your assigned username and password. If you have not set up your username and password see the instructions at the bottom of this page.
UMC Library provides wide range of library services to students and faculty. Most useful for those working at a distance are the research databases that can be accessed remotely. For general information about the UMC Library and the services it provides, you can start from the UMC Library Homepage.

You have access to some of these databases through the Library link on the Red Lake County Central site. There are two major differences between that site and the UMC Library site and its links. First UMC has many more databases and many of these a specific to a subject area. The second advavntaage is that in the databases have FindIt links to full text of the article where none is available in the database,
. This is a very powerful tool and makes finding the text of an article much easer. FindIt the linking service is only available to College in the High School students while on campus and off campus only if you have a UMC username and password
Getting your UMC username and password
To get your username and password go to www.umn.edu/lookup and type in your name to get your username. After you get that information go to https://www.umn.edu/initiate and enter the information on the form to set your password. Remember that your password must be eight characters or more, have an uppercase letter, a lower case letter AND a number or symbol. It also cannot be part of your name or a dictionary word.
