A TALE OF TWO VALLEYS

an autobiography

By Conrad G. Selvig

Selvig’s autobiography, A Tale of Two Valleys (PDF) is the story of his life beginning in the Root River Valley in Southeastern Minnesota and continuing in the Red River Valley of the North. It deals with his early struggles, aspirations and happy times that led to Selvig’s successful careers in several fields.

His story narrates the growth and development of the University of Minnesota's Northwest School of Agriculture and Experiment Station from its early formative years and the development of these institutions.

The book is a vivid description of rural life during his times. Selvig’s statement in the introduction captures the mood and tone of the book “My life has been a happy one from childhood days and on.”
